A practice raised, not built
Dr. Harvey Olson moved his family to Enid in 1959 to start the practice, treating both large farm animals and the town's dogs and cats. His son Dwight started working as the kennel attendant at age ten — at ten cents an hour — and grew up helping his dad through surgeries, injuries, sicknesses and challenges.
After a biology degree from Oral Roberts University in 1976, Dwight was accepted to Oklahoma State University's School of Veterinary Medicine and completed his DVM in 1980. Internships in Tulsa and Norman showed him big-city life — and convinced him to come home to Enid and all its charms, joining his dad in the family practice.
Dr. Harvey retired in the early nineties. Dr. Dwight has carried the practice ever since — same family, same standard of care.
Invested in Enid, beyond the exam room
Because his dad was involved in making Enid a better place to live, Dr. Dwight has been too — serving on the chamber of commerce, two terms on the city council, the Pegasys public access station, the board of Oklahoma Bible Academy, his local church, and the AMBUCS and Rotary civic clubs. He believes in investing time, talents and treasure to make Enid the best little town it can be.
